Connect & Protect

This world can be a lonely place.  It can also be full of people or situations that trigger you, make you feel less than great and spark that inner voice of criticism and self-doubt.

On the other hand, most human beings do crave connection - it’s part of our make-up, it runs deep in our ancestry - we are essentially tribal creatures!  It can be a really wonderful thing in so many ways.  And, when you get down to it, it’s not like we can avoid connecting - it’s kind of necessary, if you want to get anywhere and see any kind of success (and I say that as the most formerly people-shy, raving of introverts).

But the thing is, we often feel drawn to keep hanging out with the crowd even when those interactions aren’t making us feel particularly good - because we feel we have to, or just because we crave that social connection.
